Solvent
resistant tapes are made of two components: a carrier, which is usually
paper, plastic, cloth or rubber, and an adhesive, which is a solvent
based.
Solvent resistant tape had high dielectric strength and all the
physical and electrical properties remain stable even in high
temperature environments.
Solvent resistant tapes are used in applications such as coils,
harnesses and capacitors that undergo extreme temperature variations.
They are designed to be used on high visibility garments. At the cut
ends of the tape, the tape is turned under itself and sewn through the
doubled over edge, this helps prevent moisture ingress. In the garments
also the cut ends should be inside the seams of the garment.
