Aluminum scrap is popularly divided into two categories when it is processed. These are :

• New Aluminum Scrap
• Old Aluminum Scrap

New Aluminum Scrap is actually the surplus material which is formed during the manufacture and fabrication of aluminum alloys. While, Old Aluminum Scrap is recovered in the aluminum process which involves the production, usage & final discarding for recycling. It is majorly a used aluminum beverage can, a car cylinder head, window frames or electrical conductor cable.

Aluminum recycled products are considered to be lucrative in commercial aspects. These scraps have immense intrinsic value which makes them economically very attractive. Up to 95% of the energy is saved while recycling a good quality aluminum scrap into new ingot.
