Polyolefin
films are the workhorses of the packaging and agricultural industries.
Their good mechanical and durability properties as well as their
excellent cost and performance ratio drive their omnipresence.
The frictional properties of the films for packaging are important
during printing, laminating and wrapping. A slip agent is usually added
to polyolefin shrink film to control the coefficient of friction. This
control is achieved by migration of the slip additive to the film
surface. The migration of the slip additive is related to its rate of
diffusion and solubility in the film.
Applications
- High shrink wrapping systems
- Packaging food products
- Non-food applications
- Wrapping sensitive products
- Excellent for packaging fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and
other refrigerated food items
- Great for toys, housewares, software, video cassettes, bakery
and lighter multi-packs
- Separators in battery industry
