Multichannel
holograms or multiple exposure holograms can be made to create images
that move as you walk past the hologram or if the hologram is turned.
With changes in the angle of the viewing light on the same hologram,
completely different scenes can be observed. Most commonly 2 or 3
channels are used. It is like making a few shots on the same piece of
film from different angles. This concept has enormous potential for
massive computer memories.
Multi-channel hologram simply means that one hologram contains many
images that appear in a real hologram one after another during
observation. These holograms flash a name or a logo in and out of view,
or show the outside or the inside work of an object. The different
channels can be made up of any of any hologram types and are often made
by several combinations. A Master Card with its on and off world map
illustrates this effect.
Multichannel hologram is widely used for labelling purposes and as hot
stamping foil.
