Lacquered
polyester film is a metallized plastic film, and is used extensively in
the packaging industry. The film can be used for packaging and
decoration of almost any product. They ensure higher productivity and
consistent weight uniform coating.
Types
- Gold Film- Gold film is a mass-colored or
surface-lacquered polyester film. Metallisation provides it with a
metal-colored appearance. It is laminated with cardboard to make
trays for food such as portions of fresh salmon, cakes, etc.
- Tracing and Drafting Film- It is a lacquered
polyester film suitable for manual drawings as well as pen plotter
drawings. It has high dimensional stability, high strength, and is
waterproof with no discoloration with age. The film does not become
brittle so has a long life. It is highly translucent and is widely
used in construction and textile industries.
Applications: Lacquered Polyester Films and Packaging
Lacquered polyester films are used to make various packaging products
as well as decorative materials. Depending on the thickness of the film,
different products are made. The polyester films may be lacquered on one
side, it can be lacquered on both sides as well. One sided lacquered
metalized polyester films are used for making boxes, both side lacquered
metalized polyester films are used for making metallic yarns, zaris and
for decorative applications, there are lacquered polyester films to make
glitter powders. Thus, there are variety of uses of such films. Some of
the packaging products made with the help of lacquered polyester films
are like packaging boxes, pouches, bags, rolls, sheets, industrial
packaging, electronic packaging, pharma packaging etc.
