Hybrid Hologram

Between the reflection and transmission types of holograms, several variations are made. These variations give rise to several other holograms, collectively known as hybrid holograms. These are used for packaging applications where eye popping shelf appeal is desired.

Hybrid forms of holography forms a fruitful area of holography. Hybrid forms can be graphic hybrid and sculptural hybrid hologram.

Graphic Hybrid

Hybrid presented in a familiar graphic format and feature a play on the flatness of graphic images and context of presentation. The holographic image has good depth and dimensional stability. Rainbow hologram is a good example of graphic hybrid. A further extension of the graphic-hybrid is found in work that features serial holograms.

Sculptural Hybrid

This features a combination of sculptural artifacts and holographic image, each of which contributes to a resultant synthesis.
