Hot
stamping foil is a multi-layered film. Generally, it starts with a
20-micron polyester carrier coated with a waxy release layer. Over this
is another coating with the top coating layer to impart resistance to
the hostile environment, the foil will exposed to. This coating protects
everything beneath it. Beneath the top coating is the Emboss able
coating which receives the embossing of image. The material is then
metallized by Vacuum Deposition of Aluminum layer.

Hot stamping has a strong visual appeal and is easy to verify. It is
easy to apply to a product but is difficult to replicate or remove. It
is relatively cost-effective to produce and use. It is highly chemical
resistant and is available in numerous colors and resins to maximize
image quality and durability. The foils differ by adhesive, by release
coating and by foil content, some foils require a finishing varnish or
overlaminate, some do not.
Hot stamping foils are fluorescent or even bi fluorescent, means that
under different wavelengths of light they shine different colors. The
control of the prints is easy and secure.
