June 15 2010- A hologram is an image captured in a hollow with exact size, color, shape and brightness of the particular image. All these details about the image are captured in a microscopic size. When viewed in light at different angles the hologram produces two or three dimensional recreation of the images. Holograms are made using a process called holography which uses laser lights to record the images. Images are recorded in a very complex way. Holograms are of various types and serve different purposes. Different types of holograms have found specific uses for themselves across various industries.

The demand for different types of holograms is huge and varied. In a few years from now, holograms are expected to be an integral part of new age information and communication. Currently the hologram applications can be listed as follows.
